NDF welcomes a new Program Officer
As of 26 June, Ms Helena Lehtonen has joined NDF to strengthen the Portfolio Origination and Management department.
Helena joins NDF with 5 years of experience in the field of her Master of Science in Agriculture and Forestry, with a minor in Economics and Sustainable Development. Prior to NDF, she was based in Brussels, working at the European Commission DG GROW as a trainee supporting the unit on energy intensive industries, raw materials and hydrogen.
She has also worked an Assistant National Facilitator for the Forest and Farm Facility Programme with FAO in Zambia and as an intern at FAO HQ in Rome on REDD+ implementation in Forestry Policy and Resources Division. She also has experience as an intern at the Embassy of Finland in Rome, covering Rome-based UN agencies (FAO, WFP and IFAD) and as an intern at the Finnish Assocation for Nature Conservation supporting Conservation team on forest, climate and energy policy.
