Nordic Climate Dialogues 2025—Catalysing finance for climate action
What happens at the nexus of climate and development finance? Big ideas—and even bigger impact. Join Nordic Climate Dialogues event on 1 October in Helsinki, Finland, hosted by the Nordic Development Fund. Engage with leading Nordic experts in the field, participate in dialogues that unpack bold climate solutions, and explore how the Nordic region can catalyse finance for real action.
Finance is not just about numbers. It is a critical enabler of climate action and sustainable development.
Adequate financial resources enable us to build and scale climate action, protect vulnerable communities from climate-related impacts such as floods, droughts, and rising sea levels, and support developing countries in achieving their climate and development objectives.
Although we have witnessed progress in climate financing over the past few years, with adaptation financing more than doubling between 2018 and 2022, we are still falling short of what is needed. The ‘climate finance gap’ – the difference between the trillions of dollars needed and the amounts currently available – remains persistent. To bridge the gap, public funding is dependent on new finance coming from the private sector.
Nordic Climate Dialogues 2025 aims to catalyse stronger partnerships among Nordic actors of climate finance and development across the Nordic region. By convening government representatives, financiers, institutional strategic partners, think tanks, research institutions, and NGOs, this event aims to build a network of professionals, inspire Nordic collaboration, and explore ways to mobilise financing at speed and scale. Rooted in the region’s shared values, strengths, and expertise in sustainability and green innovation, we can drive global impact.
We will be talking about how the Nordic region can catalyse more high-quality finance for climate action, benefiting the most vulnerable people, communities, and our planet. Together, we can propose bold ideas that can drive transformative change.
This will be a private event for invited guests only. Virtual participation will be available to the public during the high-level segment of the event, starting at 10:00 (GMT+3). If you believe the programme is relevant to you as a professional and you would like to attend the entire event in person, please contact us.
Nordic Climate Dialogues is organised in collaboration with our partners Hanaholmen - the Swedish-Finnish Cultural Centre, Ministry for Foreign Affairs Finland, and Convergence.
