NDF welcomes a new Director for Portfolio Origination and Management

As of 1 August, Mr Henrik Franklin joined the NDF team to take up this key position. Henrik comes with 23 years of experience in international development in Africa, Asia & Latin America, focusing on strategic & operational management, portfolio management, quality assurance & change management.

I look forward to reconnecting with my Nordic roots and rolling up my sleeves together with the team”.

Henrik has held different positions at IFAD, AfDB and IDB. He joins NDF from IFAD where he served in multiple roles including as Lead Portfolio Advisor for the East and Southern Africa Division, Head (a.i.) of IFAD’s Regional Office in Nairobi, core member of the Operational Excellence for Results (OpEx) exercise team and Head of the Andean and Southern Cone Hub. Before joining IFAD in 2014, he worked for the African Development Bank, both at headquarters as Chief Quality Assurance Officer and on portfolio management in field office in Mozambique. He has also worked as natural resources specialist at the Inter-American Development Bank headquarters and field offices in Honduras and Ecuador, as well as for the European Commission in Vietnam. 

A Swedish national, Henrik is fluent in Spanish and English, with knowledge of Portuguese and French, and holds a M.Sc. degree in Biology from Stockholm University.
