NDF welcomes a new Associate
As of 17 April, Ms Taru Saarinen has joined NDF to strengthen the Strategy, Outreach & Communications department as an Associate.
Taru joins NDF from the Helsinki-based think tank Demos Helsinki, where she supported research projects on the green transition and economic policy, focusing on stakeholder communications, event management, and research activities. Her prior experience includes working with the Africa policies of Finland and the European Union at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, as well as working with international affairs at the Social Insurance Institution of Finland.
“I’m looking forward to starting my new professional chapter at NDF and working on important issues around climate change and development. I can’t wait to learn more about NDF and I’m thrilled to use my expertise to contribute to its global impact,” says Taru.
Taru is a Finnish national and speaks fluent Finnish and English, good Spanish and Swedish, and intermediate French. She holds an MA in Politics & International Relations from the University of Aberdeen and will graduate from the University of Helsinki with an MSSc in Global Politics & Communication in spring 2023.
