NDF launches its Strategy 2030, focus on unlocking finance for climate solutions
Our new Strategy 2030 charts the direction for the next five years. During this period, we will raise the ambition to lead the frontier of catalytic climate and development finance.
With the rapidly escalating climate crisis, innovative solutions are urgently needed to tackle the challenges the world is currently facing. Lives and livelihoods in vulnerable regions are at a real risk, so the time to act is now.
Through Strategy 2030, NDF will boldly mobilise Nordic agility, innovation and risk-taking to unlock transformative solutions for people and communities who need them the most.
Nordic countries are global leaders in finding solutions to the climate crisis. As a Nordic joint financial institution, we serve as a channel to advance Nordic climate leadership and turn this ambition into action. We will do this by convening with Nordic and global partners and facilitating public and private sector collaboration.
"Our new strategy is a powerful tool to step up our ambition as a Nordic innovator in climate and development finance,” says Satu Santala, Managing Director of NDF. “By directing at least 60% of our financing to lower-income countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, at least 50% to adaptation and our focus on nature-positive investments, we are sending a clear message: we are committed, and we stand ready to deliver, especially in a world that moves from one crisis to another,” she continues.
