We welcome a new Program Officer

​​​​​​Maria joins NDF with ten years of experience in environmental policy and circular economy work across the Finnish government, think tanks, and the United Nations. Prior to joining NDF, she served as an Associate Programme Management Officer at UNEP in both Bangkok and Paris, where she contributed to circular economy-related initiatives and supported the development and implementation of environmental policies. Maria holds a Master’s degree in Ecology and Environmental Sciences from the University of Turku, complemented by studies in environmental law and corporate responsibility. Originally from Finland, she is fluent in Finnish and English, with a working knowledge of French.

“I am very excited about the opportunity to join NDF and to contribute to its work. Climate change and biodiversity loss are already impacting the livelihoods of people across the globe. I believe that NDF’s ambitious and impact driven approach for catalysing finance are part of the solution to safeguard our planet,” she says.
